What Is Alphasan
Alphasan is active chlorine dioxide, a yellow-green gas in aqueous solution, mixed, active and ready to use. Its shelf life when stored as directed is measured in months, not hours. Chlorine dioxide is an internationally recognised broad-spectrum biocide that effectively and rapidly destroys all types of micro-organisms. Historically it was limited in usefulness because onsite generation required mixing extremely hazardous chemicals. Chlorine dioxide is not chlorine. The chemistry is different. Unlike common chlorine, it is non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic and relatively non-irritating at appropriate concentrations, and does not react with organics to form carcinogenic chlorinated hydrocarbons.

How It Works
Alphasan functions by oxidation of cell membranes, dissolving the outer wall and deactivating micro-organisms, unlike chlorine, which adds or substitutes a chlorine atom to reactive substances. This is why Alphasan doesn't produce chlorinated compounds, and why it works immediately regardless of concentration or contact time. Because of this reactive mechanism, organisms cannot build up resistance to it.
How To Use
The active product in solution has a shelf life of up to 6 months and does not degenerate. It's easily applied by dosing, dipping, spraying, fogging, or adding to ice, slurries or water. Alphasan is conveniently packaged in 5, 20 and 200 litre drums, and 1000 litre IBCs.
